Baritone Roderick Williams Set to Perform at Warwick Hall with Orchestra of the Swan.

One of this country’s most sought after baritones Roderick Williams, whose opera engagements have included major roles at leading opera houses worldwide including the Royal Opera House, will be joining Orchestra of the Swan for an evening of mystery and intrigue.

‘Enigma – an English Mystery’ includes Elgar’s most well-known piece Enigma Variations, Warlock’s Capriol Suite and Walton’s Two Pieces from Henry V. Roderick will be performing Vaughan Williams’s rousing Five Mystical Songs alongside his own piece, Corona commissioned during 2019 for Oxford-based string ensemble ‘Corona Strings’.

Last year it was announced that Orchestra of the Swan had become the first professional orchestra in residence at Warwick School, which houses a purpose-built concert hall with enhanced acoustics. The partnership aims to benefit local state schools in the area, as well as the pupils of Warwick Schools Foundation, by creating a centre of musical excellence in Warwickshire.

‘Enigma – an English Mystery’ is on 12 January 2023, at 7:30pm at Warwick Hall. Tickets cost £15 and £5 for children under 16 and are available here.
