Caroline Mitchell

Caroline Mitchell – Violin

Born into a musical family, Caroline learnt several instruments during her childhood. The violin was always her favourite to the extent that she would insist on taking it on holiday!

Masters in Violin

Caroline went to Chetham’s School of Music at 16 then gravitated along with her friends to the Royal Northern College of Music for her Bachelor’s. In search of new pastures, she left England and chose to go to Boston, U.S.A. for her masters’ in violin, staying on for a year or so to play Principal 2nd in several freelance orchestras in the state.

Touring from a Young Age

Caroline enjoys performing around the world and has been touring with orchestras since the age of 7.

Orchestra of the Swan continues to take great repertoire to new places and she has enjoyed the recent tours to New York, Istanbul and Mexico.

Away from music she is very fortunate to have a lovely husband and two gorgeous boys, and together they enjoy cycling, trampolining and building train tracks!

Caroline features in The Swan’s new album due out in the Autumn.
