Jubilee Jukebox

Celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with ‘Jubilee Jukebox’

We’ve joined forces with Escape Arts to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a day of music, events, and fashion, to be held at The Studio (former H&M) in Bell Court, Stratford-upon-Avon.

The free event will explore the music, pop culture, and fashion seen during the reign of Her Majesty The Queen’s 70 years, with Orchestra of the Swan performing two special interactive concerts at 2pm and 4pm.

‘Jubilee Jukebox’ will be the first of its kind for the orchestra and will allow the audience to have full control over the songs performed, with two song choices available from each decade of Her Majesty The Queen’s  reign.

The new arrangements, created by The Swan’s artistic director David Le Page, will include tunes from The Beatles and the Eurythmics, to Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol.

In addition to the live concerts taking place, there will also be a display of pop culture and fashion from each decade. Pride of place will be given to the unveiling of the magnificent ‘Jubilee Robe’, made by children from Stratford primary schools and local community groups, working alongside local textile artist Barbara Fidoe. The cloak has been handmade and incorporates elements from 1950s to present, using different techniques and materials.

The Studio will be open from 1:30pm until 5pm on Friday 3rd June for fun activities, displays, and the two live performances by Orchestra of the swan.

Places can be reserved by heading here.

Thanks to the Arts Council and Heart of England Community Foundation for the funding.
