Described as ‘superb’ by the New York Times and ‘flawless’ by Muso, Tai Murray is one of the few African-American stars of today’s classical scene, debuting with Chicago SO aged just 9 and making her Proms debut in 2016 with BBC NOW.
Performing perhaps the most popular of violin concertos, Tai is joined by Julian Lloyd Webber, a ‘national treasure’ as cellist and conductor, along with being Principal of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Combined with a symphony Mendelssohn wrote aged just 13, and one by Mozart written at 17, this really is an evening of voracious young talent, spanning over 200 years!
Mozart – Overture to The Marriage of Figaro
Mendelssohn – Violin Concerto in E minor
Mendelssohn – String Sinfonia no6 in Eb
Mozart – Symphony no25
Julian Lloyd Webber – conductor
Tai Murray – violin
