Long before Beethoven’s death in 1827, the Eroica was considered to be the most important Symphony ever written. For many, it remains so – but few can tell you why. In association with two of the Festival’s Partners, King Edward VI School and Orchestra of the Swan, Matthew Boyden is devoting the first half of this evening’s concert to a fully illustrated explanation of what makes the Eroica a masterpiece.
