New Music Update: New Mixtape album Light & Shadow Due for Summer release

We’re delighted to announce that our highly anticipated sixth mixtape album, Light & Shadow, will be released on Signum Classics on 27th June 2025.

This latest album invites listeners on a compelling, imaginative and intimate journey into the world of iconic film soundtracks—without the need for a big screen or the scale of a full symphony orchestra. Instead, Light & Shadow embraces the close-up, offering a rich tapestry of subtle textures and emotional nuance through the unique voice of a chamber ensemble.

Featuring 12 beautifully crafted tracks, including seven new arrangements by Artistic Director David Le Page, the album reinterprets works by Peter Gabriel, Thomas Newman, Philip Glass, Angelo Badalamenti, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Jon Brion and Radiohead. It’s a fresh and thoughtful way to rediscover your favourite film music from a new perspective.

The second of four singles to be released is out today  –  a hauntingly beautiful new version of Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel—featuring the stunning vocals of SuRie—is available to stream now.

Originally released in 1976 on Gabriel’s debut solo album, Solsbury Hill is a song of revelation, release, and the promise of personal freedom. Known for its uplifting rhythm and distinctive melodic drive, the original version is both jaunty and emotionally resonant.

In this reimagining by Artistic Director David Le Page, featuring the ethereal vocals of English singer SuRie, the track is transformed into something entirely new — a serene, spacious soundscape that invites the listener to experience the song’s lyrics, harmonies and structure in a more intimate and reflective way.

“This arrangement takes Solsbury Hill into a serene parallel musical universe where the beauty of the text, the structure and the harmonies are allowed to breathe in a new way.”

The first single, American Beauty featuring jazz pianist David Gordon was released 29 April 2025 and is currently featured on ten Apple Playlists.

The track has also featured in popular films including Vanilla Sky (2001) and Good Company (2004), affirming its emotional resonance across generations.

A graduate of The Royal Academy of Music, SuRie has performed at some of the world’s most iconic venues, from The Royal Albert Hall and St Paul’s Cathedral, to St Mark’s Basilica in Venice. In 2018, she represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, performing to a live audience of 20,000 and a global viewership of over 200 million.

Her television and radio appearances include The Graham Norton Show, This Morning, Celebrity Pointless, Celebrity Bargain Hunt, Saturday Kitchen, and BBC Radio 2’s Tracks of My Years with Ken Bruce.

In 2024, SuRie was awarded the Off-WestEnd Award for Lead Performance in a Musical for her role as Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun, highlighting her exceptional stage presence and vocal command.
